Our Story

Why we exist.

The Legacy Project began with a simple conviction: a kid's future should never be decided by the size of their family's bank account.

Gospeler | Entrepreneur

The Legacy Project was born from a simple belief: one opportunity, one mentor, and one season can change the trajectory of a child's life — and when a child's life changes, generations can change.

A results-driven business leader with 15+ years of experience scaling operations, building brands, and driving growth across community management, consumer products, and lifestyle ventures, Dylan specializes in operational leadership, strategic planning, and business development, with a proven ability to align teams, optimize performance, and deliver measurable results.

Known for combining disciplined execution with creative vision, he has launched and grown multiple successful ventures while building strong partnerships and high-performing teams. His leadership is rooted in faith in Jesus Christ — striving to lead with integrity, humility, and a servant's heart, putting people first and honoring God through his work.

Dylan is passionate about building ventures that not only succeed, but serve — reflecting Christ's love through action, developing others, strengthening communities, and creating lasting impact far beyond the bottom line.

Kris Ortiz

For Kris, The Legacy Project is deeply personal. The vision began taking shape in October 2025, but the burden behind it was planted long before then: through faith, family, and the legacy of his grandfather, Columbus “Joe” Austin Jr. of Norfolk, Virginia.

Joe Austin dedicated his life to mentoring young people through sports and faithful presence. As founder of the Downtown Community Athletic Association, he helped children facing poverty, broken homes, addiction, and the pull of the streets find discipline, confidence, belonging, and hope. His guiding principle, “Training youth how to live tomorrow as they learn how to play today,” continues to shape Kris’s work.

A former athlete, current coach, husband, and father, Kris believes sports create opportunities, but lasting transformation comes through Christ-centered mentorship, discipleship, and supportive community. He holds a Master’s in Biblical Studies and has spent more than 15 years serving in church ministry and walking alongside families in their faith journeys. Professionally, he works in the technology sector serving large financial institutions.

Through The Legacy Project, Kris continues his family’s calling: showing up, serving generously, and building a legacy that impacts generations.

Rooted In Faith

This was never just about sports.

The Legacy Project exists to reflect the love of Jesus Christ through action — meeting families where they are, serving without condition, and walking with kids long after the final whistle. We believe every child is made in God's image and worthy of the chance to play, grow, and belong. Sports are simply the field where that love takes shape.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:40

What We Stand For

Our values

Every Kid

No child sits out because of money. Period. Access is the starting line, not the reward.

Whole Family

We don't just sponsor a season — we build relationships with the people raising these kids.

Rooted In Faith

As a Christian ministry, discipleship and character are woven through everything we do.

Built To Last

Legacy means long-term. Mentorship and presence that outlive any single game.

Be Part Of A Legacy That Lasts

Put a kid in the game.

Your gift steps a child onto the field, into a community, and toward a future they can believe in. Every dollar reaches a kid.
